HomePod sounds great but is a complete mess when it comes to smarts.

To think that Steve gave Tim a several years head start on the competition and now it’s dead last and the butt of jokes because it has shown no perceivable progress since then; that level of incompetence is pretty astounding.

I think this was introduced since the introduction of Siri on all devices and never was resolved.

Yeah exactly, I’ll believe it’s fixed when I see it.

I frequently hear my wife yelling at her HomePod mini a second time just to turn her mirror lights on in the morning while she does her hair/makeup.

Wife: “Hey siri turn on the mirror lights…”

Siri: “…”

Wife: “HEY SIRI TURN ON THE MIRROR LIGHTS!”

Me: ?

Siri: “Done!”

My 2 OG HomePods updated without issue. I was getting annoyed at having to invoke Hey Siri or Siri and getting no responses.
